I am originally from the rural Blue Ridge area of Virginia and began my teaching career as a substitute there in 1991.  I began teaching in Maryland in 1996 for Charles County Public Schools in Southern Maryland.  I have been at FCPS since 1998. 

I am a big fan of post-modernist painting and sculpture and also cultural crafts such as textiles, ceramics, jewelry/metalsmithing and carving.  

I love to travel abroad, gardening, and working in my painting studio.  I am also an avid animal rights activist as well.
