Fourth Grade Music Class
In 4th grade, we are still learning to determine whether music is in sets of 2 (duple) or sets of 3 (triple).
We are still working on rhythm patterns using the quarter, eighth, half, whole and dotted half notes and the quarter, whole and half rests, but we will also be working on th dotted quarter note and syncopation.
We are going to continue playing recorders which will help us learn all the notes of the treble clef, along with key signatures and playing staccato (short and detached) and legato (connected and smooth).
We will be singing partner songs, which are two song that, when sung together, create some harmony. We will be continuing with our study on form in music by working with pieces that have the Theme and Variations form.
Students in the 4th grade have the opportunity to play an instrument in the band or sing in the chorus. |
