In Language Arts this year we are working to improve:

*Comprehension

* Vocabulary & Phonics

* Fluency

* Writing for a variety of purposes

Families can support their children's reading and writing by encouraging them to read daily, discuss books as a family, and practice writing for authentic purposes such as making lists, keeping a journal, writing a note or letter, etc.

In Math this year we are working to:

* Problem solve

* Communicate mathematical thinking

*  Improve math facts with speed & accuracy

Please encourage daily practice of math facts and involve your child with real-life math experiences like counting money, telling time, measuring ingredients, etc.
