Welcome to Mr. Hoch's Website!

Hello and welcome to social studies. My name is Cory Hoch and this is my 10th year at Ballenger Creek Middle. This year I will teach 7th grade. Here are some of the following units of study students will learn as they arrive to class:

7th

Geography Skills Review, Spliting of the Roman Empire, Europe in Early Middle Ages, Middle East in the Early Middle Ages, The Crusades, Africa in Early Middle Ages, Asia in Early Middle Ages, Americas in Early Middle Ages

Looks and Sounds like a Lot of Fun....Right? I hope you think so :)

We all have expectations in some form or another and to certain people in our lives. Here are my expectations for you in my classroom.

Expectations:

  • Arrive to class with all necessary class materials and a positive attitude.
  • Follow classroom and school rules.
  • Study for tests and quizzes. Complete homework. Read assigned chapters.
  • Participate in class.
  • Try your best and then ask for help.

I am a fair teacher who wants you to succeed. So I will do my very best to see that that happens. It is also important that we all do our part so that success is easier to attain. Here are some classroom rules that will allow everyone the opportunity to meet that challenge.

Classroom Rules:

  • Follow directions the first time they are given.
  • Come prepared to class with completed homework, sharpened pencils, and be in your assigned seat when it is time for class to begin.
  • Raise your hand and wait to be called on.
  • Be kind, courteous, and respectful at all times.

Failure to obide by classroom rules will result in consequences aimed at correcting the infraction. There are various stages of disipline.

Consequences:

  • Stage One - Warning
  • Stage Two - Lunch Detention
  • Stage Three - Phone Call to Parents
  • Stage Four - After School Detention
  • Stage Five - Referral to Administration

Serious infractions will result in immediate referral to Administration.

I look forward to meeting and working with you this year and hope you gain an understanding of our past, current, and future history.
