Please read class syllabus:

Objective: To provide students with instruction and practice in the application of math skills, problem solving strategies and number sense for success in mathematics.

 

Classroom Goal: That all students come to class ready to learn and to develop the skills needed to perform at the proficient level on the Maryland State Assessment (MSA)

 

Classroom Structure: Students will be placed in small groups so that they are given all opportunities to receive a more individualized math program. Each student will spend equal amount of time in each of the three groups.

 

Group 1: Teacher Directed Activity

Group 2: Independent Activity

Group 3: Computer Math Activity 

 

Classroom Rules:

1. Come to class ready to learn

2. Arrive to class before the bell rings.

3. Do not disturb others during class time.

4. Everyone stays in their assigned seat.

5. Take responsibility for all my actions.

6. Speak to teachers and peers in a respectful

    manner.

 

Classroom Consequences: Consequences will be given to students that do not follow the classroom rules. Every day the students will begin with a clean slate. Each time that the teacher has to speak to or correct the student?s behavior they will move down the consequence steps.

 

Step 1: Verbal Warning

Step 2: Conference with teacher

Step 3: Lunch Detention- To be held on the day the student reaches

this step

Step 4: Phone to Parent

Step 5: After School Detention- To be held on Tuesday or Thursday

Step 6: Referral to the Office

 

 

Classroom Grading: Students will receive a weekly grade in each of the following areas. These grades will be placed on Pinnacle every Friday. Parents should view their students account on Pinnacle at the end of each week.

Note: Students are encouraged to make up any work that is missing. The goal in intervention is to have all work completed and graded. All attempts will be made to give students the opportunity during class time, lunch time or after school to complete missed work. All work that is not completed by the end of the term will receive a grade of F.

 

Weekly grades will include the following:

Grade One: Computer Weekly Score

Grade Two: Class Participation Evaluation

Grade Three: Independent Classwork

 

Homework: There will no homework. 

*Since I do not assign homework your child can go to my Math Links and practice their math skills in a fun way by playing games.
