ABOUT MRS. ENGLER: 

I earned my BA from Salisbury University and attended Radford University for my MS in School Counseling.  I have school counseling experience in both the elementary and middle school levels and have also worked as a substitute teacher.  This is my 6th year at Twin Ridge Elementary School (TRES). 

In my free time, I enjoy riding horses, art, writing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  I am the Maryland School Counselor Association (MSCA) editor and am in charge of putting together the quarterly newsletter.  In addition, I enjoy volunteering with the Frederick County 4-H Therapeutic Riding Program  and am in my second year as an instructor for the program.  I am working toward earning my North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) certification.  The program is designed to allow individuals with disabilities in Frederick County to take riding lessons free of charge.  I live with my husband, Scott Engler (a high school chemistry teacher in Howard County) and our yellow Labrador retriever, Lucy. 

Here are some little known facts about me:

I was born in England!  Sorry, I don' t have an accent..  It disappeared in elementary school.

I'm a vegetarian.

I'm left-handed.

I've been riding horses since I was 12.

I finished writing my first novel in spring 2010.
