FCPS policy is a maximum of 45 minutes of homework Monday through Thursday for fourth grade. If the work is taking longer than 45 minutes, you can have the student not complete it and write me a note to let me know why. I do not want students working for a long period of time every night.

In addition to long-term projects, children should be completing a math, reading, and word study assignment each evening. The reading assignment is reading 15+ minutes from the Accelerated Reader (AR) book your child has selected from the library, a literature circle selection, or another book of their choosing. Thank you for checking to assure that your child's homework is complete and in the backpack each evening. Thank you also for signing the agenda daily.

I try to give the students about 5 days notice before any tests and I will send home an information sheet for any long-term projects.
