Our field trip to
Annapolis
is May 30th.
We will visit the State House, conduct a walking tour of old Annapolis, visit
the United States Naval Academy and take a cruise all in the same day! Please
send in your $15 donation to cover the cost of the trip for your child. Click on
field trips below to get more information.
In Language Arts,
we are working on basic
writing elements which include prewriting, composing, evaluating,
revising, and editing our writing. Reading
award-winning books and writing
about them through blogs and discussing them
in literature
circles is our big focus this month. We're doing several
different types of writing until the end of school.
In Math, we are learning about mathematical computation skills,
problem solving, and number relationships. Comparing, ordering, adding and
subtracting whole numbers are some of the skills we're practicing this month.
Check out Math Fact
Cafe! You can practice math facts with 'virtual' flash cards (Go to Grade 3
for Flashcards), practice problem solving and more! The web-based program can
even generate practice sheets.
Teacherease
is an online grading program that I am using to help communicate with families
about their child's academic progress. If you'd like more information or to sign
up, please contact me.
