      Welcome back to another exciting school year!  We will be learning about many interesting topics in third grade this year.  In language arts, we will be focusing on comprehension of fiction and nonfiction text, fluency, word study (including phonics and vocabulary development) and writing.  In math, we will be studying patterns, number sense, money, graphing, geometry, measurement, probability, fractions, problem solving and multiplication and division facts.  Our major units in science will be Rocks, Soil and Fossils, Chemical Tests and Populations.  In social studies, we will take a look at maps and globes, economics and government.  Have a great year!
