Welcome to the Walkersville Elementary School Media Center!

Happy Bookworm

All students at WES visit the Media Center once a week.  Students in first and second grades each check out two books.  Students in grade three through five are allowed three books per week.  All students are granted free choice to select the books of their desires.  However, we do encourage chapter books and accelerated reader books for older children.

 

What are we studying?

  • All classes (1st-5th)-Black-eyed Susan Picture Books
  • First grade-Great Authors
  • Second grade-Caldecott books
  • Third grade-Genre study
  • Fourth grade-Great Authors
  • Fifth grade-Reference materials
  • 4th & 5th grade-Black-eyed Susan Chapter Books
