Welcome to Mrs. Byrne's Life Skills Website. 

This is a site especially for parents and students.  On this website you will be able to find out what we will be doing in class and what the homework  is.

I teach 6th grade Life Skills, 8th grade Life Skills and a combined 7/8th grades Life Skills class. 

'Z' Grades - if you see a Z grade when looking at Pinnacle that means the assignment is past due and you have a zero at present until you turn it in for partial credit.

  Week of June 1, 2009

Here is what we are planning to do this week

7/8th grade  - Child development/babysitting unit - Over the next two weeks we are learning what to do in an emergency starting with "Check, Call, Care".  The skills include: checking a conscious and unconscious child, what to do if a child is choking, rescue breathing and some basic first aid.  Homework-bring in a self addressed stamped envelope so your babysitting card can be mailed to you.

6th grade - We are in our final unit - "TNT - Towards No Tobacco use" program.
