Hi! We are happy you have visited our web page. Our second grade team is made up of three teachers with almost 30 years years of combined teaching experience.
Patty Madert was born in Syracuse, NY and grew up in Chevy Chase, MD. She received a degree in History from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University and holds her Advanced Professional Certificate in Early Childhood Education. She has taught in Frederick County for six years. Her family includes husband, Bob, Kevin 16, and twins, Amy and Brian who are 14. She enjoys swimming, water skiing, and snow skiing.
Lin Dinkelacker was born in North Carolina and grew up in Virginia, England, Norway, and Germany. As you can see, she was an Air Force brat! She graduated from Hood College with a degree in Psychology and has an Advanced Professional Certificate in Early Childhood Education. She has been teaching in Frederick County for 17 years. Her family includes husband, Alan, children, Steve and Lorie and two grandsons, Tyler, a fourth grader at Deer Crossing elementary School and 2 year-old Ryan. She enjoys her vacation home in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Abby Horman grew up in Frederick County. She graduated from Radford University with a BA in Journalism. After college, she worked for Diamond Comics, but decided she wanted to teach. So, she moved back home to Frederick to attend Mt. St. Mary's University. This is Miss Horman's fourth year at Kemptown. She enjoys running and reading.
