Second Grade is an exciting year.

Language Arts We will become fabulous Readers and Writers! This year we will be focusing on reading fluency, reading comprehension, phonics, vocabulary. Mastery of these concepts will be achieved through reading instructional level texts and reading independent level text. Your child will complete narrative and expository writing pieces.

Math A few of the math skills we will be working on are addition, subtraction, multiplication, telling time, measurement, geometry, and problem solving. Your child will show a deep understanding of mathmatical concepts through written work as well class discussions.
