| Hello and welcome to my web page! If you are visiting here, then I know you care about your child's musical education! So do I and I strive every day to make music an exciting, meaningful and fun discipline for your child to study. I am proud to say that I am one of the "founding mothers" of BCES, which means I was here when the school opened in 1991. I love teaching in the Ballenger Creek community and it has been exciting to see the community grow and change. It has been especially wonderful to watch the children that I teach grow into wonderful, productive and caring adults.
In my "outside-of-school" life, I am married to my high-school sweetheart, David. We have now been married almost 31 years! We have two children-Joe, who lives in Chicago with his wife Priscilla, and our daughter Caty, who lives in Jefferson with us, as well as our "granddog" Loretta. I am the music director at Buckeystown United Methodist Church, where I love to worship and praise in music. I love to read, walk and travel when I have the opportunity. I am originally from Southwest VA, which explains the accent that you hear from me. I majored in voice at Radford University and received my Master's Degree in Music Education from Towson University.
I look forward to working with the Bobcats of BCES, making music together. Please feel free to contact me at sarah.alderman@fcps.org with any questions or comments throughout the year. I am always looking for parents or family that have musical talents to come and share, so please don't be shy! Contact me!
