Hello!
Welcome to the world of Faibisch.
If you are a student of mine or a parent of a student of mine you are probably interested in one of the way cool classes that I teach. Biology and AP Environmental Science are the two courses I teach most often but on occassion I have been known to teach ICP.
My degree is in biology with an emphasis on environmental science and botany. I spent much of my childhood growing up on a Christmas tree farm that was in my family for 65 years. I am passionate about the environment and have even been referred to as a tree hugger. (Which I take as a compliment.) One of my greatest experiences was my tenth anniversary trip with my husband to the Alaskan tundra to go caribou hunting. Besides enjoying outdoor activities, I am also a competitive runner and compete in races from 5k to full marathon. I have even started to participate in triathlons. I am also a participant in the Japanese martial art of Aikido with South Mountain Aikido here in Frederick.

My family consists of my wonderful wildlife biologist husband, Jake, my two beautiful labs, Slide and Shelby, my snake Dot, and my newly adopted tarantula Shelob (yes I am a Lord of the Rings fan.)

At Walkersville, I have been advisor to the environmental club and have been coaching the Envirothon team for quite a few years. Last year our teams took 1st and 2nd at counties, 1st at States and 16th at Nationals. This was truly an unforgetable experience and one I hope to repeat with my future teams.

For my APES students, the link below goes to my Blackboard site. Please refer to it for assignments, notes, calender, and where to turn in assignments.
